What is used
This page covers cookies and browser local storage. The current version includes no advertising, marketing pixel or external audience measurement. Writing charts use your recorded sessions, without tracking navigation.
The uses below support sign-in, your chosen theme and the timer you activate. No optional-tracker consent is currently requested. Future non-exempt trackers will require a free choice beforehand, with refusal and withdrawal as easy as acceptance.
Inventory and lifetimes
- Supabase sb-<project>-auth-token cookies, sometimes split into .0, .1…
- Sign-in session and refresh. Maximum on-device lifetime in the current SDK: 400 days, refreshed or cleared by authentication flows. Actual session validity depends on Supabase settings.
- Supabase PKCE / code-verifier cookies
- Protect sign-in and authentication links, including Google sign-in. Removed by the flow when no longer needed; an abandoned flow may leave a value until expiry, up to 400 days with current SDK configuration.
- missquill-recovery cookie
- Authorises a single password reset after verification of the emailed link. HttpOnly, up to ten minutes, removed when used.
- Local storage: missquill.sidebar.collapsed
- Remembers your collapsed or expanded menu choice on this device until changed or browser storage is cleared.
- Local storage: missquill:last-project:<user>
- Remembers the last selected project for this account on this device. Replaced when choosing another project; removed if it is unavailable, when choosing all stories or when clearing this account’s data on the current device.
- Local storage: theme
- Remembers your theme on this device. No automatic expiry; replaced when the theme changes or cleared with browser data.
- Local storage: missquill:locale; cookie: missquill-locale
- Remember your chosen language on this device. Local storage has no automatic expiry; the cookie selects the language before rendering and expires after one year unless renewed. Replaced when choosing another language or cleared with browser data.
- Local storage: missquill:timer:<user>:<project>
- Keeps the timer and session draft on this device. Removed after saving, discarding or clearing browser data. No automatic expiry for an unfinished draft.
Your controls
You can clear site cookies and storage in your browser. Clearing authentication cookies signs you out; clearing local storage resets the theme and can discard an unsaved timer draft. It does not delete projects or sessions already saved to your account.
Google sign-in starts only when you choose it and leads to Google services, where their own privacy and cookie rules apply. MissQuill fonts are served locally.
